Kind Copperas Cove, TX Dentist

Get to Know Dr. Diana Teruko Vaught

Using kindness, patience, and a light touch, Dr. Vaught loves changing people’s negative perceptions about the dentist one great appointment at a time. By providing gentle, competent care, she allows someone to focus on the benefits of dentistry rather than being stressed out! She is always happy to welcome new patients through our doors, and you can start getting to know her ahead of your visit by reading on below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Vaught absolutely loved her dentist growing up, Dr. Jeannie Williams in College Station. It was never a scary or difficult experience for her to go to the dentist, and as she got older, she realized the majority of people she knew felt fearful when it was time for a dental appointment. She was a psychology major in undergrad, and after she shadowed Dr. Williams, she decided to do research about dental anxiety. She now strives to understand not only dentistry, but the psychology of it as well. Dr. Vaught loves making her patients feel as calm and comfortable as possible in the chair while ensuring they understand the procedures as well as the importance of home care.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After earning a degree in psychology, Dr. Vaught went on to graduate from the Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Her senior year of undergrad, she got to go to Nicaragua and volunteer as a dental assistant, where she helped provide dental care to those who normally wouldn’t have access to it. She hopes to travel internationally again someday and offer even more help now that she’s a dentist.

Today, Dr. Vaught is Invisalign certified, and she also maintains professional memberships in both the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Vaught’s favorite thing to do is go thrift shopping for clothes, furniture, and anything else! She likes finding great deals and being more sustainable. She also likes to try new places to eat, particularly if a restaurant features food from other countries—she especially loves authentic German food when she can find it.
